tags: correlaidx calls

TOP0 Introduction

moderation: Isabel protocol: present: Andrew. Lukas, Liubov, Liam, Phil

TOP 0: Agenda

  1. Introduction, Local Chapter updates, CorrelAid news

  2. If there is still time: potential breakout sessions for a more detailed exchange of interests between different local chapters

TOP1: CorrelAid news:

  • Tasneem and Heba joined our team in the beginning of this month, they will work with us until end of November :tada: they will complete their IFA scholarship at CorrelAid and support our work in various areas. We would love them to meet you and vice versa. In case your LC has a small project/ event planned in this period of time, let me know :)

  • CorrelAid Meetup in the pipeline: 6/7 of November https://pad.correlaid.org/reQkOPLoQe2bphbYTa6i0w#

    • Kick-off meeting right before this call, you can still join the task force

    • join the #summit-planning channel on slack

  • Thoughts on CorrelAid's long term strategy:

    • background: funding secured until the end of 2021, what is happening afterwards?

    • focus on automatization of processes without lowering quality

    • focus on education as our "association's purpose" (Vereinszweck)

    • we were thinking about working in project cycles (e.g. 4 times a year, projects can start, there would be a joint kick-off call for all projects and accompanying workshops throughout the project duration) this way we could maintain the quality and make learning experiences more sustainable

    • all of this is tbd, if you are interested, you can join the #correlaid-method-tm channel

  • The CorrelAid mentoring programme was launched, still open for applications until 30 September, the planning team is especially looking for some more mentors :)

  • We are currently working on a license agreement (for Chapters outside of Germany) and a code of conduct, which will also go on the website, you can have a look at it here

TOP2: Local Chapter Challenge

  • How did you like the challenge?

    • :tada: 5 projects were handed in, thanks to all teams who dedicated their time

    • the jury will evaluate until the end of this month

    • winners will be informed by 30th of September

      • We would like to present your projects to the network and ideally beyond

      • ideas so far: session during the meet-up; podcast episode, blogpost --> Let us know if you have further ideas

    • Datenguide asks for your feedback, they host a community sprint on 26 September, most probably online, but maybe small groups will meet in Cologne / Berlin

    • For Updates and support: #correlaid-x-challenge

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    • Use of regional statistic data, which is provided openly by the state statistical offices and thanks to the data guide and a CorrelAid team, is easily available with just a few lines of code via a package in Python and R

  • Idea: all local chapter who would like to, can participate (you need to registrate your team) and show a creative use of their regional data with the python package

  • In case you still need a team, just ask in the slack channel (above)

  • Keep in mind that your project, your project results can be a potential door opener to address local NPOs
